The cash infusion also allows it to continue investment in cooperative marketing and development programs with Oracle Corp and other business partners that have begun to generate market pull for SellingPoint. ICAD (Corporate history: ICAD, Inc., Concentra, KTI, Dassault Systemes) is a Knowledge-Based Engineering (KBE) system that enables users to. After some trying financial times, Concentra reckons it will now have the working capital to follow through on aggressive product and marketing programs developed for SellingPoint, while showing profits on a quarterly basis. It will invest the money from the ICAD deal into the SellingPoint business, it says, and feels the concentration of resources behind SellingPoint will help it become a major player in the market for sales force automation and configuration software. Concentra says that, upon completion of the deal, it will concentrate it efforts on marketing its flagship SellingPoint sales configuration system.
In return, Concentra will receive fixed payments of roughly $18.7m over the next two years, plus additional payments through 2001 based on ICAD revenues. The Burlington, Massachusetts company has struck a deal with Knowledge Technologies International Inc to license the ICAD software. Concentra Corp has announced that, in conjunction with its divestiture of it ICAD System engineering software, it will now be focusing entirely on the sales force automation market.
